Wildwire Wanaka - Wild Thing Waterfall Climb
Wildwire Wanaka is an experience of a lifetime and only waterfall climb in the Southern Hemisphere. Go Wild is our more advanced tour and participants will want a good head for heights. No previous experience is needed and you will stay dry throughout.
Location: Twin Falls Waterfall, Wanaka – Mt Aspiring Road, (Just before the Treble Cone road). We meet at the Wanaka I Site (unless otherwise arranged)
Experience: Both tours are suitable for beginners. Go Wild is great for hesitant adventurers and families and Wild Thing is perfect for those looking for more excitement with a good head for heights.
Skills needed: If you can climb a ladder, you can do both tours
Will I get wet: You can stay dry throughout.
What to bring: Sturdy walking shoes, comfortable trekking clothes suitable for the weather on the day, jacket. Optional: camera, small back pack.
What is provided: Transport to/from Wanaka town centre, guide and training, snacks/ water, helmets, harness, via ferrata lanyard and safety equipment.
When do you operate: We operate year round and in most weather.
Minimum age: 12 years on group tours. Under 16, must climb with an adult guardian. We have taken adventurous children as young as 8. Please call to book.
Guiding ratio: 1 guide to 4 on full-day climb.
Restrictions: If under 40kg or over 100kg, please call to discuss.

- Day 1 : Wild Thing Waterfall ClimbWild Thing continues on from Go Wild and adds around another 2 hours of climbing. It is steeper, more exposed and longer. Technically, it is similar to Go Wild, but it is higher off the ground and there are a few more steep sections to climb.Meals :None
Pick up is from the Wanaka i Site - 103 Ardmore St, Wanaka.
It may be possible to upgrade to our advanced tour on the Day.
