Camp Taringatura, built in the 50's by the Presbytarian Church, is set on beautiful 15 acres at the banks of the Dipton Stream- in the heart of Southland! Unlike many places you will stay in New Zealand, Camp Taringatura is not in a town. The Camp lies in the heart of the rural country side, surrounded by native bush with some of the last remnants of Southland Plains Podocarp Forests, (only 1% of these ancient forests remain).
Awaiting you is a friendly home away from home in peaceful idyllic surroundings with beautiful sunrises and fantastic sunsets topped with a little lure of adventure! Book in to their comfortable bunk style cabins - peg up your tent under the big blue sky - or drive in with your mobile-home. There is plenty to keep you occupied including: walking, hiking, bird watching, swimming at the Dipton Stream in water holes and the big Oreti River - both of which are right at your door step.
