Te Mata Estate Winery
Established in 1896, Te Mata Estate remains family owned, producing internationally recognized wines exclusively from its Hawke’s Bay vineyards. Go behind-the-scenes and see the country’s oldest barrel hall - the ‘Stained Glass Cellar’ - and visit the Havelock Hills vineyards that form of the heart of the estate. These are New Zealand’s first legally-recognized vineyard sites, officially protected for their heritage value. Follow this with a private wine tasting with WSET qualified staff at their cellar door, designed by New Zealand architect Sir Ian Athfield.
